Mid Century Modern Danish Teak Desk by Kai Kristiansen

By hydabrek, 16 November, 2015
Description

This unique mid-century teak desk comes with four drawers on one side and a round lazy-Susan cupboard on the other side where you could store glasses and some liquor or other such tall bottles or tall thingsThis unique wood desk comes with four drawers on one side and a round lazy-Susan cupboard on the other side where you could store glasses and some liquor or other such tall bottles or tall things.

There is a key hole on the top drawer. We don’t have key.

There are shelves on the front of the desk. Largest shelve is adjustable.

There is also a hidden drawer above the round cabinet. This drawer does not have any handles and it is not obvious it is a drawer, hense why I call it the hidden drawer.

It has some stamps on the bummer.

It is in OK to pretty good condition, the legs may need some tightening. It is clean. There are some scratches on the top of the desk. I took a close up photo of the scratches so you can see them. I also noticed the supports for three of the legs are not original. One is. I provided pictures so you can see.

I do not know who originally owned the desk. I can only provide you with the history since I acquired this piece. I have not made a single alteration on it, I took good care of it.

I litterally sumpled upon it when I was at a Relief/Fundraising sale. I instantly love it and had to have it, paid for it on the spot. I have had it for about ten years now.

I only recently discovered it was designed by a Danish designer, Kai Kristiansen.

There is a stamp on the bottom, the first line is easier to read and it says "Product of Demark", the second line is not as easy to read and I believe it says "Assembled and Finished in Canada" - all caps.
