This item looks to be a commemorative pin celebrating the the reply American General A.C. McAuliffe gave to the German forces on December 22, 1944 when he was offered the choice of surrender or annihilation when Bastogne, and the American's holding the town (101st Airborne Div.) were surrounded during the "Battle of the Bulge".
