Description

Hello, I just found this beautiful piece and I have no clue about it. I want to sand it down and paint it. But if it's a antique I wonder if I should. It's 5ft high ish by just short of 3 ft. It's got storage and no markings other then on the front. I am not even sure what kind of wood it is. Any advice on when it could be from or what it is called or anything is much appreciated.

History It was bought in a antique store years ago from a friend who was going to refurbish it. But she didn't and gave it to me. She does not know anything about it.
