By Rcring, 5 November, 2009
Description

I am 23 yrs old and my father and I moved into my great-grandparents home shortly after they passed in 2003. In the family room there was the Motorola Hi-Fi sterophonic record player with AM & FM, never really thought much of it because it was just decoration untill just recently I opened it up and found out what it was, I also found that it works perfectly, everything about it!!

Re: Motorola Hi-Fi sterophonic record player & AM , FM player

This sort of HI FI combo was popular in the 60's and early 70's. They were great pieces of furniture as well as good radios and phonagraphs usually and motorola is a good brand. That said they have gone pretty much the way of the record. They are large and very dated and not very widly sot now except for record collectors and then probibly more becasue the normaly played 33,45 and lp's so 3 in one. But again u have the space requirement. Also people interested in collecting phonographs who have a great deal of room for the collection,
I think that you would have to get it into a special auction for it to have any chance at all.
My advice is..if you have room for it and like it hang on to it. Any I ever had anything to do with as with many electronic or mechanical things were far superior in many ways to what you can now buy today as atested by the fact it still works. Maybe someday the come into vogue again or if passed down enough generations in your family who knows what it could someday be worth as a true antique (100 yrs+)
