Mount Airy Furniture Co. 4pc.Bedroom Set

By Kyle.D, 9 November, 2013
Description

I am looking for an appraisal/ value and any possible information(year made etc.) for this 4 pc. bedroom set. My mother recently passed away and she was the only one who knew anything about the set. This is a Mount Airy Furniture Co. 4 pc. bedroom set, which includes:  (2) BEDS/ Twin size. Measuring approx. 76" long X 40" wide. The headboards are trimmed with ornate carvings and have a curved shape on both ends. They measure approx. 37" tall on the ends and 43" tall at the center. The footboards have an ornate shape and design with a carved motif in center. Ornate carved legs and feet that stand approx. 22" tall. Both head and footboards are faced with laminate and the rest (side boards, legs, trim carvings, etc.) seem to be solid wood. Both Beds are in nice condition (consistent in wood tone, No visable or big scratches, cracks, chips or missing pieces of wood or laminate).  DRESSER: measures approx. 50 1/2" Tall x 38" wide x 20" Deep. Face of dresser has a wave type shape to it.  Has 5 drawers that have ducktail constructed joints, along with all the hardware. Laminate faced with ornate trim.  The top of the dresser has some glass water ring marks(plan to have top prof. redone), the rest of the dresser is in the same condition as the beds-NICE.  DESK&BENCH: Rounded wave shape desk that measures approx. 52" L x 23"Wide/deep and 30 1/4" tall. Laminate faced and ornate wood carved trim. Some wear on the outer edges of the top and a piece of laminate approx. 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" is missing on the right bottom corner of the left side bottom drawer (will also have looked at to be fixed).  Bench matches in design, legs/feet carry the same carved look as beds, desk and dresser. Has fabric cushion. All pieces are very solid in feel and construction.  Sorry for all the excess info that you probably didn't need to read and Thank You!
