I purchased this antique chair in a very reputable antique mall for $210.00 down from $500. The dealer is pretty reputable so I have been told. The chair is in great condition. A few straches and nicks. NO CRACKS, OR missing parts. Chair is very sturdy and solid. The cloth is not orginal ( I can see new staples ) but is very beautiful. It indicated CA 1820 " Federal American " chair. I belive it to be Mahagony with a nice patina in the strraches and grooves. I believe the 1820 date to be accurate based on pictures of other chairs like it.
CAN YOU POSSIBLY AUTHENTICATE IT AS REAL AND NO REPRO
IS AN 1820 DATE MOST LIKELY
CAN YOU TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT IT ( PRODUCED IN NY, ETC )
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT A FAIR MARKET PRICE IS
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A PIECE THAT IS AS NICE AS I THINK IT IS AND A GOOD CHOICE FOR A FIRST ANTIQUE PURCHASE.
any advice would be great.
thank you
