national cash register

Description this antique national cash register was left behind by a former housemate who didn't want it. we don't have a key for it but I understand that those are relatively easy to come by? there are no screw holes for a top sign. The serial number of the unit begins with the letter S meaning that it was worked on at some point by the company that manufactured it. what i don't know is the style of the background to determine the value of the piece.
