I have a picture that states it was given to Charles Penrose of the Newcomen Society. The picture is of a women in a bathing suit and she has signed the picture, " To my devoted and affectionate friend, Char. Penrose in appreciation of his efforts in bringing The 1919 Sandoor Outing to "our show" at The Chestnut Street Theatre June 19, 1919"Signed Elsie B. Ware
On the back of the frame is a letter that was taped that reads:
"To Whom It May Concern",
THIS IS TO CERTIFY, that the undersigned witnessed with surprise, not mixed with regret, the delivery of the attached photograph and momento of the alluring and charming Water Nymph pictured, to Mr. Charles Penrose at a sober and sedate dinner at the Engineers Club on the evening of June 18, 1919. As member of a respectful community, we renounce responsibility in regard to any complications which may result from the affair, so unexpectedly disclosed to us.
Witnessed our hand this the nineteenth day of June, 1919." <END of LETTER>
It has been notarized and singed by 8 individuals. I am not able to make out all of the names but a few are: John A. Pewhurst?,Harold T. Moore, DH Moore and more.
Any ideas if this would be worth anything?
