Nicaraguan mahogany bar

By barboy27, 6 September, 2015
Description

Nicaragua Mahogany Bar. Hand made one of a kind. All of the logs are solid mahogany. The tall free standing log is 6ft tall the shorter is about 4.5. The bar its self is approx. 4 feet wide and 4 feet tall. and a foot deep. There is a glass shelf underneath which is about 3/8th thick glass. as well as shelfs for the back drop. With same thickness. There is a lot of random copper accents. And an egget in the middle of the bar. It was hand made by the gentleman that owns( or owned ) the "Y bar" in Millacs Mn.(HENCE THE ALMOST HIDDEN "Y' ON THE BAR TOP!) I have tried contacting him with no luck. The gentleman i purchased it from bought it about 15  years ago. and he had it at his lake house since. He is now in a retirement home and i bought the set at a garage sale. It took 4 grown men to move the back peice. Extremely heavy. I can't find anything wrong with this whole set except the back drop left log connecting to the veneer board is slightly cracked along the seam. I can send more pictures of that if necessary. The makers mark is on the back drop- i can't make it out at all which leads me to believe iit maybe nicaraguan lettering? The gentleman i bought it from purchased it for $2,000.00 about 15 years ago. The "roots" look like real roots very well crafted.. the branches- some are real and some are placed. those that are placed all seem to have copper underlayment. One of the copper rins ( right side of back drop) at the top of the log has fallen off. and im not sure how to fix it so i will let it be until told differently. over all very beautifull near flawless piece.I dont know anything about eggets. so i'd like incite on that aswell please. The back drop is 6ft tall by 7ft wide the veneer is seperated twoards the bottom middle. anything else please email[email protected] THANK YOU!
