I have seen this item one time on an auction site years and years ago and it was up for auction for $1000. I do not know what it sold for. I have never seen it again and can't find one like it anywhere. I have researched the mark and believe it be real. It reads hand painted, Nippon and has the maple leaf. The plate is not round but has somewhat of a scalloped edge. It has 2 small handles. It is white and gold leaf only with no other color. It is very very heavy on the gold leaf and the pattern on the front is that of leaves and vines. Maybe grape leaves or olives leaves? There are also round fruit of some sort. But I don't believe it to be grapes because there are only a couple here and there. Not a bunch together like you would expect with grapes. Also the fruit has raised gold leaf dots on it. The piece has a very small amount of gold leaf rubbed off. The entire outside edge of the plate also has a decorative dot pattern embossed in gold leaf.
