Oak buffet leaded glass beveled mirror back

By Vkat2009, 16 April, 2009
Description

This item was left with me after my roommate moved out. He said his mother bought it in Tennessee about 30 years ago and it supposedly is from the 1890's. Leaded glass, beveled mirror back. I believe it is oak. Any information about manufacturer, history, etc. would be much appreciated. I did see another one on line but it was in a private on line photo album with no further description or information.

Look all over it for any marks. Inside the drawers, under them, under the piece, on the back, just all over it. Knowing a maker can effect value though not all are marked. i have an antique walnut Victorian buffet with no marks at all.

Re: Oak buffet leaded glass beveled mirror back

Based on your images this piece appears to date from before the First World War, and is probably an English Import. Similar pieces were built on both sides of the Atlantic, but the English examples tend to be lighter in design and construction. Check the locks if there are any, English locks tend to be marked.
Value wise, about $500.00- $00.00 at auction.

Thanks.
