This hand-painted Royal Austria serving bowl is 2 3/8” deep and 9 1/4” across. It has scalloped, worn gilding on the edges, and raised dots around the inside of the edge. Other than the gold-painted edge, the bowl is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or scratches. The bowl is cream-colored with a very slight tint of green on the front, and white on the back. The roses are pink fading at the edges, with yellow centers, and 2 large buds reach up on the right. The floral spray is backed by detailed green and green/blue leaves, and on a background of what appears to be symbolic green grass on the left, fading to brown soil on the right. There is a mark on the back, handwritten in the clay before firing, that looks like the number 15. You can feel and see it, but it’s nearly impossible to photograph. The imprint on the back has “Royal” in the center, “O.&E.G.” above, and “Austria” below.
