Description

Hello,

Attached are several pics of an oil lamp made by Plume & Atwood. I was asked by a friend to refurbish the lamp and get it in working order. It belonged to a family member who passed away and was given to his wife, so it will not be sold, but I would like to find out more about the lamp to present to them when I return it.

I've included the before and after pics of the burner head, which is stamped as the Eagle model. The stamp on the wick raising and lowering wheel indicates that the lamp is was made by P&A Manufacturing, Waterbury Conn.

Some online reaseach suggests that this means the lamp was made prior to 1955, as the company factory relocated to Thomastan in that year due to flooding.

Can someone help pinpoint the date of manufactuing a little closer? I suppose a starting point might be to know what dates the Eagle model burner was manufactured between??

All the best,

Mike
