Was given a Robert Lox painting...or believe it is...signed Robert Lox...can't seem to find anything about this painting...any suggestions? Not interested in keeping it, just want to find out about it and sell it. Many thanks, Bonnie [email protected]

It may be by the artist Robert Cox (1934-2001), an american floral artist. I am researching a painting as well and just came across your post. I've seen asking prices anywhere from $75-225. Good Luck.

if you found any further information on this artist please call me at 614-871-0790 and ask For Rhonda. I also purchased an oil painting of his and found a dealer in NH called the Emporium. She has a set of his paintings she is selling for $60.00 but they are much smaller than the one I have.

It's most likely Robert Cox...google him. If it's pink roses it's definately him.

I also have a lovely oil painting by Robert Lox , Yes its a vase of flowers, A blue vase with white flowers, Have been told these are painted by more than one person, Robert Lox is not a famous artist possibly a made up name , Give away sign is white canvas often darkened to fool people, White canvas printed on to and over painted to give it texture. Another sign is if you take it out of the frame and look at the very edge and its clear to see it printed by the way the edges fade out in a perfectly straight line with no texture at all which would be impossible to acheive by hand and also pointless. And another sign to look for is a variation in signatures , If Robert Lox was a famous artist he would be known and easily looked up, These are mass produced by hand onto printed canvas in the hope of fooling people to think its an antique or undiscovered work of art so they part with lots of money. They are however very nice looking and convincing.True value probably £30-£60 at the most and half of that value is the frame .
