This is an oil painting of a Dutch Market scene by Charles Leichert. It is painted on wood and is in excellent condition. Any help with the auction value would be appreciated.
I do not feel this painting is genuine. The quality of the painting does not appear to be top notch nor does the signature match other works by the true painter. Furthermore, I have found an exact better quality match of the scene depicted here, lending to the conclusion this is a later copy. The original is housed in a private collection. Auction records for authentic works range from $800-$8500.
