This piece is very beautiful. Went to library to try to identify the wood from which this piece is made. Felt it was of rosewood and satinwood construction. Drawers are dovetailed. The drawers have brass pulls. Suprisingly it matches my grandmother's china closet which is marked with brass plate emblem by Simons where you spend 1/3 of your life in bed from Grand Rapids Furniture. The buffet has decorative legs and is of solid construction. Found where a nail scratched into the wood "1790". I felt the piece was probably 1900's like my grandmother's china closet. The door fronts of this buffet have the same pattern as the doors of my grandmother's china closet. The buffet has two top drawers. One which is where you can store your silverware and is lined in felt. It has one full length bottom drawer for storing table linens. This piece is not for sale. It is just too beautiful and it matches my grandmother's china closet and my table.
