Description
I've got an old desk laying around. Don't necessarily need an exact appraisal, but I was wondering if it holds any kind of value to it before we go sell it.

Does this desk have any value?
Re: Old Desk
Your desk is a 'Federal Revival' Style piece made during the second quarter of the 20th Century. Federal Revival pieces are reproductions of the original American Federal style furniture firstproduced from 1780-1820. The Federal Revival style became popular after the first Centennia lof the American Revolution in 1876. At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. This caused large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Colonial and Federal styles from the Jacobean to Duncan Phyfe. The style reached it's peak of popularity during the mid 1920's. Furniture of this type were popular decorator items, generally produced in mahogany they were also made using in walnut, maple, and cherry. Desks like yours in need of refinishing or restoration often sell in the $150.00-$200.00 range.
