Old Hand Carved Wooden Chess Set with matching table and 2 chairs

By Hollywood4u, 7 December, 2010
Description

From what I can gather/guess it is from Poland "Beskidy Mountain Farmers Folklore stuff"  It is very old and in really good condition I think.  The paint and finish is still untouched and original.  Has the usuall very small marks from use.  It has been in a dry storage with much of my stuff while I was in the Marines for 21 years.  I now have it in my gameroom and it always gets alot of comments.  Problem is I really don't know about it other than it is really cool!  The ornate carvings on the wide legs of the table look like a Knights Templer and the ornate carvings on the back of the chairs are kinghts sheilds of some sort as well as ornate carvings on the seat too.  The chairs are conected at the back with 2 medal hinges that look to be fixed with some type of hammered rivets? I guess that is about it? Hope that helps!!!

Respectfully, Neil
