Description My dad supposedly picked these up in Vietnam in the 1950's. I have no idea what their history is other than that. I believe they are ivory as they seem a bit too heavy to be bone. They are cream colored, with the female statue color a slight bit darker; on the female you can also see some bits of brown throughout - i don't know if it's organic to the material or if it is dirt or what. Both statues have figures with four birds each, - the fem figure is also holding a fan. The detail on the fig's is great including toenails, fabric pleats and tiny bird eyes. There is a mark on the bottom of each statue - it's hard too tell if it is a stamp or handcarved - it contains leters or marks in some type of oriental lettering.
