Description

This set was bought at an estate auction where I live.  The house being auctioned had been family owned since it was constructed in the early 1800's.  There were so many beautiful things in mint condition.  The set I am inquiring about looks oriental, maybe chinese or japanese.  Very very thin porcelain.  When held up to the light the makers mark is visible through the bottom, that's how thin it is.  I've done research trying to find the maker and I've probably looked at a thousand makers marks, but still can't find exactly what I have.  Maybe transferware?  Handpainted?  The mark on the cup is blue and the mark on the saucer is gold.
