Description

Original 1922 POSTER OF THE COVER OF THE FEBRUARY 2, 1922, LIFE MAGAZINE. "THE FLAPPER," BY FRANK XAVIER LEYENDECKER  (1876-1924).

IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER IT HAS BEEN STAMPED "WM JM. CORBETT BOOKS LEXINGTON AVE, N.Y." THE STAMP IS FADED TO A VERY FAINT RED. on other side, there is a pencil initials A142P <---could be where it was printed?...

small tear at bottom do to frame  was small height so it was bent along bottom edge-crease mark along bottom edge. I have it on this frame to flatten the crease.

Paper is yellow-ish...   close to brittle...but not quite.

Image is as you see it- no blemishes.

93 year old poster. In great condition, may be 1 of a kind...by my research anyway

Category Art Deco and Art Nouveau
Distinguishing marks P142A pencil mark in back bottom right hand corner of poster

No, its not. That is a "Cover" of the actual magazine.

What I have is the original poster.

There is one on another site, that is like mine, but with some tears, and blemishes. Mine, except for the paper's discoloration due to age (1922)...it's intact and it has not been cut to fit a smaller frame like the one below. I don't know what I'm going to do yet, it's a rare find, and I believe someone that

knows about this, will tell me what I have. I've not seen any like this anywhere on the internet, except for the one below. the Artist passed away 2 years later, this is his most famous illustration or the one that he is most known for.

The one on the other site:

if his is rare, then mine is "unique" ! lol

I have the exact same original piece complete with same bookstore address stamp on bottom right. Old and tattered. mine has been in a frame so I can't see anything on the back. Did you ever get more info on yours?
