Description This painting I bought second hand and I had it reframed. I;m sure the frame must have been old for me to have done that. I believe it is an oil- however I cannot be sure. I am not positive that I am reading the signature right, but it looks like"Bevort" I did some research on the name and the is a painter named Johan Hubert Hendrick Bevort 1917-1996 I would love to know more about the artist, and is whoever is reading this thinks it's a signature match. Also, if it is a match, I would love to know how much it may be worth.
Category Fine Art
Medium oil- possibly acrylic
Distinguishing marks I think it reads 'Bevort'
Condition Excellent
Size and dimensions of this item aprox. 36 inches wide and 30 inches tall
History I can not remember exactly where I purchased this painting but if I had to guess, it would be a consignment shop.

This painting is indeed (most likely) from the hand of J.H.H. (John) Bévort. The signature is his. He painted by using the pallet knife which resulted in thick layers of paint that are sticking out. I cant really see that on the picture you made, but you can probably confirm it. I recently got interested in his work which resulted in my first purchase of one of his paintings. Can you tell me how long this painting has been in your possession and where you are from?

I too have a painting that I believe is by this artist.  It was passed to me from my grandmother.  The signature looks the same as in the above photo and the colors are somewhat similar as well.
