Painting by R. Bateman

Profile picture for user Blondinjeans

Description

The signature on this painting is R.Bateman, I am familiar with the renowned Canadian artist Robert Bateman. If this is indeed one of his works, it must be an earlier piece. I am unable to find out anything on this painting. The back has the archival reference and the frame has the name Felix and a number. I come up empty on the searches for information on the frame. Being there is no title and it resembles little to Bateman's later works I am here seeking any information you may have. I appreciate the time and consideration. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Christy

Distinguishing marks
The artists signature is at the bottom right, it is not the easiest to distinguish between the tan, off white and grey color scheme that is mixed throughout this part of the painting. It is not easy to get a good picture of.

Excellent

History
I have no history on this painting. I know that the area in which I found it, is a cultural melting pot as well as the income ranges. It is not surprising to see artwork that has significance, whether in monetary or historical value. This is only one of the dozens of signed works I have had the opportunity to keep and learn more about. The journey has been quite a fascinating one.
