Re: Painting Unknown Artist

Paintings really require a physical appraisal by a Specialist Appraiser, there are just to many things that need to be verified by a physical appraisal that cannot be done properly by images.

Re: Painting Unknown Artist

Thanks Lovejoy, I figured. I guess I was just wondering if it is worth appraising or if anyone knew the artist

Re: Painting Unknown Artist

I believe it's by Antonio Guidotti (1881 - 1958), an Italian artist.  I think he worked with both oils and watercolor, but his few auction records are all watercolors and smaller than your painting.  Those typically have sold for a few hundred dollars.  Oil paintings will usually be worth more than watercolors.

Hope that helps!
