Hello,
This is an original Namiki Hajime woodblock print. Red peony flower and leaves over 24k gold leaf sheets. It is 24x18 with original frame; the painted area is 12x18 and has a gold leaf trim around the print, and the back of the painting is green with a center tag that gives a brief history of the artist, born 1947, and says that the work was for the Mrs. Ronald Reagan collection. It also has in the lower right hand corner an orangish tag from the gallery, BOQ with the address and an area that looks like it may have been a signature stamp on the tag.
The work is signed, dated '88, title is "Peony" lot number 9 and numbered 2 of 80. The signature line is done in pencil, and actually is signed into the gold leaf. When he signed, the artist etched off some of the gold leaf with his signature.
