This is a historic appraisal from our archive.
I have a white pitcher and washbowl set that also contains a smaller pitcher, "thunder mug (no lid)", cup with handle, and small dish with lid. Inside the small dish is a flat, round disk with a hole in the center. On the bottom of each item is the following: Bonita then on the second line, V.P. Co. All the writing is in green.
The washbowl edge, edges of the pitchers, edge of cup and edge of dish lid are all scalloped. the set is all white with gold edging and a gold "wreath type" design encircling the upper edge of all pieces.
This was purchased from an antique dealer at a swap meeting in 1987 for $100.00. The dealer told me that she purchased it from an elderly lady several years earlier. She claimed the elderly lady had carried it in her lap on a ship from Europe to the U.S. in the early 1900's.
Can you identify this set and give me an approximate value?
Thank you.
