Porcelain figurines

By Cdreyer48, 21 November, 2021
Description

I know nothing about the piece other then that my great grandmother owned it so it’s at least 100 years old, maybe more. The porcelain almost looks like mesh but it’s all porcelain.

Re: Porcelain figurines

This one looks quite similar to yours https://www.savacoolandsons.com/item-37156.html?title=Monumental+Italia…
Note in one of the pics there’s a blue N with a crown over it. This one has a crack. It’s final auction price $270
Look and see if you can find the little N with the crown anywhere. Ones like that are Capodimonte/Dresden.
I found another similar piece on eBay with a different mark https://www.ebay.com/itm/233963817714?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=…
You can find that mark and details here https://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/germany/bavaria/kronach-02/index…
There are many similar ones when I do a google image search for Dresden Musical Trio but I’m not finding any that I can say were made by the same maker as yours and not sure if we can know since it appears to be unmarked. I believe that there were lots of makers who made Dresden and Dresden style porcelain. So you’ll find lots out there. I did quite a bit of searching and did not find one that matched yours. The lace look is known as Dresden lace.

Re: Porcelain figurines

Check very closely for marks as these Dresden style figural groups have been in and out of production since the late 1800's, later examples made right through the 1980's in Italy. The later examples often sell for under $150.00 at auction, the early originals over $800.00.
