porcelain teapot

By Anonymous (not verified), 23 July, 2008
Description

This 6 cup teapot is in mint condition and was given to my Mother by her Mother. We don't know if it belonged to her family or what the history is behind it. It is etched in gold leaf on an ivory porcelain base. There are no cracks or any imperfections. The mark on the bottom is very distinct as shown in the pictures. HALL 0188  and made in the USA with the engraved S and a gold shape somewhat like a large backward comma beside it. The number makes me think it is one of a series. All offers will be considered.

Re: porcelain teapot

This is the "Hollywood" shape pot. Came in approx. 22 colors. Hall was founded in 1903.

White was not made till 1956, if it is ivory then 1935. Sells for $25.00-$60.00 on Ebay.
