Possible Italian wax stamps?

By horseheart, 10 October, 2012
Description

These two pieces have a texture that looks to be some sort of sculpture material. I tried contacting several places and the the company on the tag in Italy but I cant understand a thing it says or they say... lol. They have marks regarding the vatican I would love to know if they were made for the vatican museum or were sold as a fine art decor.

Category
Fine Art
Medium
some sort of sculpture possibly not sure but very heavy
Distinguishing marks
seal on side and natural pits. On front both have what looks like a nic but it must be some sort of mark from being made they are near the same place and same mark. On the side were the vatican seal is it seems to show it was cut with something left ridges you can see and feel. Maybe some sort of marble cutting? At first I thought they were identically made but I find some differences.
