Possible Rare Antique 14th Century Ming Hongwu Dynasty Chinese Ceramic Globular Jarlet. This antique Chinese ceramic sancai jarlet was secured in 2014 from an historic estate in San Antonio Texas. As information, the antique Chinese globular jarlet has a yellow sticky note affixed to the bottom. The affixed note reads, "10-27-64, Ming, 14 c, 3-color, 3222, UBY." This sticky note was placed on the antique jarlet by an onsite estate appraiser on October 27, 1964 who conducted an evaluation of all personal assets inside the historic estate in Texas. This is possibly a rare antique Chinese sancai jarlet that was appraised in 1964 to be a 14th Century piece from the Ming Dynasty of the Hongwu Emperor who reined over China from 1368 AD to 1398 AD. The Hongwu Emperor (October 21, 1328 - June 24, 1398) was the founder and first emperor of the Ming Dynasty of China.

The antique jarlet measures 2.5" x 3" inches with a multi-coloured (brown, amber, and green) design utilizing an under glaze style. According to research, a high level of achievement in porcelain and ceramic production were attained in the second half of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) at Jingdezhen, and the city became porcelain capital of China. Alongside the production of large quantities of under glaze blue wares, polychrome wares were also made at Jingdezhen and refined porcelain items were intended primarily for the imperial use. This possibly Rare Antique 14th Century sancai jarlet is well preserved for its age. However, there are visible signs of wear to the surface glaze and ceramic with minor nips to the rim. There are no visible signs of restorations or major chips and cracks. Please examine pictures for a closer inspection.
