Description

Made in Spring of 1915 and bottled in Spring of 1929, this bottle of Old Overholt remains sealed with the paper seal in tact. All labels are in excellent condition and fully legible. The box is also in excellent condition with all text and colors fully visible. Normal evaporation occurred which lowered the liquid level a couple inches. There is some staining underneath the plastic seal due to horizontal storage at some point. Please refer to pictures for further information.

Some of these were on History channel's PawnStars show not long ago.  The one they had was a different brand, however was still in the box and also had evaporation.  I believe Rick paid $100 for it on the show.

Remember that pawn stars tries to double their money so they will retail that pint at $200. The value of this bottle, while in great condition, is affected by evaporation and the fact that it is a 1/2 pint. There are two kinds of collectors for this bottle: hoarders and drinkers. Drinkers will not be as interested in it since they want a bigger bottle with less evaporation. The evaporation has probably taken the proof from 100 to 130 changing the flavor profile, hence why drinkers will look elsewhere. Hoarders on the other hand are into it for the historical value, conversation piece value, and display potential. Hoarders don't like evaporation either but there are ways to stop it.

The other factor that affects value is rarity. Old Overholt is fairly common and pops up from time to time.
