Hello,
I
have inherited a fine looking Roll Top Desk.
After further inspection I find that there is allot going on with
this desk. So I had a local business man who knows some things about
this type of antique stuff tell me this: " You have a
Quarter-sawn Oak Roll Top Accountant's Desk
in extremly fine condition". He goes on to say " I have
never seen one like this ever". He went further and told me more
spec's about the desk.
#1.
It measures 55" long x 50 1/2" tall x 36" deep. All
solid oak.
#2.
It has a center hide-a-way typewriter compartment with a Remington
typewriter fastened in. It look's very antique.
#3.
It has the double locking system.
#4.
There are 34 compartments in the top section.
#5.
There are 8 drawers + 2 pull-out shelves. Bottom drawers are
dove-tailed.
#6.
There are 8 open letter slot compartments in the middle.
He
goes on to say that "This desk is an Exceptional Desk in
top-notch original shape, I can't even begin to know how valuable
this desk is". It has some numbers stamped in the
roll
top part that are: 322 12
I
sure would like to know more about it, when it was made, by whom,
it's worth, and what avenues I can pursue to get more info about this
desk. Please start me down the right road. My direct email is:
