Re: R.C. Gorman Desert Lily Litho Signed/Numbered/Framed

This image is of an original Lithograph by RC Gorman (1931-2005), entitled "Desert Lily". A beautiful example of RCs work and bold use of color, thought not new to his work in 1989. RCs work celebrated Native American life and after about 1980 focused almost exclusivley on Native American women. RC was Navajo. Born and raised in Chinle, Ariz. His Father, Carl Gorman, was a Navajo Code Talker in WWII and a very accomplished artist in his own right. RC moved to Taos, NM in 1964 and opened the Navajo Gallery in 1968 - the very first Native American owned fine art gallery in the world. He lived in Taos until he passed on Nov. 5th 2005.
