Description

I purchased this silver-plated tray because I wanted to clean it and use it. However, I found some special markings behind it and on the inside. I did some searching online and found it to be English in origin. However, the marking on the inside read to me like Norwegian or Dannish. Or even Welsh. I do not know. So, I want to get an opinion on it. Thanks.

It has the mark of William Hutton & Sons of  Sheffield (1832-1930). They made a wide line lines of nickel, britannia, and electro-plated wares, as well as steel cutlery and sterling. This piece is plated Brittania metal, values depend on how good it polishes up.
