Rembrant's Father

By Ihickok, 25 February, 2009
Description

I purchased this at an upscale auction, I just got lucky and won it. There is a paper on the back of the painting that says: Found at a Flea Market in Houston TX in 1964.
Had it appraised 16 yrs ago, was appraised for $2000.00 and then it also had the phone number of the daughter of the woman who originally bought this item in 1964. She told me the auction house that appraised it. They are local unfortunately the man who appraised has since passed. I found this link for one on wood at a Museum.

Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Rembrant's Father

I'm afraid nobody can help you with this piece from an image. The artist's work has been widely reproduced for over 200 years in a variety of formats. You really require a physical examination of this piece to determine what you have.
