I have a Rene Caron painting in the original frame. It's about 3' x 2' if not larger.. It is signed on bottom right corner as well. It has a brass plate on the front with the words "Piazza de le Rovine de Corse." It is gorgeous and I believe it is an oil painting. The paint is raised and thick. It is in incredible condition and original frame as well.

Re: Rene Caron Painting
The painting technique is called "Impasto" and it's most likely an oil painting. The thing is though paintings really require the services of a professional Fine Arts Appraiser who will need to physically examine it to determine origins and authenticity. Anyhing else is just quesswork.
