Roaring tiger print

By shellyj4444, 5 July, 2010
Description

I did some research on this print and found one picture online. The site said that it had something to do with the old west game of Faro, and that it was what was hung outside of establishments where the game was being played. I bought this print at an estate sale in Western New York in a town about an hour away from Buffalo.

Re: Roaring tiger print

Hi,

Nice picture.  I have the same print except it's in a circular frame and only of the head.  However, the prints appear to be the exact same. Mine was hanging in my grandfather's shed for a number of years in Jackson, Ohio.  I read your comments about the Faro game and it's relation to the picture.  Were you able to find out anything else?

Re: Roaring tiger print

Thanks for posting this.   I have had a large lion print for about 50 years.   Over the last few years I found both the lion and the tiger, with just the heads...in sets framed in round and square oak frames.   They are also found in barred frames.   Real nice...thanks again.

Re: Roaring tiger print

I have this same picture that belonged to my great, great grandmother. It is in original frame and original glass (glass is wavy with air pockets). It Is dated before 1910.  So how much is this worth?
