This is a 100 mm tall silver mug, all hallmarks clear, made by Robert Harper in London in 1863. The repousse is extremely detailed and virtually untouched. The mug weighs 149 grams.
At the auction it was described like this:
“Incredible survivor in excellent condition with no repairs, no dents, no damage at all. Date code on rim indicates London 1863 (Victoria) with maker RH (Robert Harper). Beautiful silver-smithing all around with exquisite detail, sure to become a highlight of your collection. Monogram appears to be JGP.
It was originally listed for $ 699.00, I purchased for what I thought was a fair $400.00. I am no expert, I would love to know how well or poorly I did.
