Description
I think the wood is mahogny. Not sure. It has been in my family a long time. It is cedar lined and in very good condition. it has a small lock built in on the front but I have no idea about a key. As I am 71 years old and it belonged to my grandmother who passed away many years ago. The label which is stpled inside says it is a genuine Roos Cedar Chest. Forest Park,Ill
Re: Roos Cedar Chest
The Ed Roos Company from Forest Park, Illinois manufactured quality Cedar Chests from about 1916 to 1951.
A $100-$125 resale value is common, some can go up to $300. Use Briwax, but never refinish it. Don't sell to people with kids...they can get trapped inside & suffocate.
