I purchased this headboard and footboard with intentions of making a bench out of it. After doing a little research I realize it could be pretty old. If it is truly old I may consider restoring it instead.
Any idea of an approximate age and value?

Cannon Ball Beds like this tend to date 1820-40, even though they now are well over 150 years old they still survive in relatively large numbers . Demand for them peaked last during the late 1980's, but prices and demand have declined a great deal since then, currently at auction they now sell go for under $200.00.
