Round table with Watertown Table Slide Co stamp patented 1899 to 1912, table part made by Rockford Chair and Furniture Co.

By DanielleG2008, 6 April, 2008
Description

Don't know exactly who made the table but i have read of others that had this same slide and they stated that the table itself was made by Rockford Chair and Furniture Co. They also mentioned that the stamp for that company was in an awkward place, didn't say where but i looked all over the table for it and could not find anything. Chair pads have been covered but they are the origional chairs that came with the table. Contact me at [email protected] if you can provide me with any information at all......

Round table with Watertown Table Slide Co stamp patented 1899 to

This is a pretty typical Colonial Revival style suite made during the first quarter of the 20th Century. Patent dates can indicate a more precise time frame, as in the USA design patents last 14 years. In this case the patent on the table slide would have been good to 1912+ 14 = 1926.

These suites were mass produced and still survive in great numbers, at auction the tables sell for less than $400.00.
