Royal Typerwriter

By jsrock563, 11 February, 2012
Description

Interested in knowing what the value of my 1936 Royal Typewriter may be.  I purchased it about 20 years ago in a consignment shop for $30.  According to the serial number, it was manufactured in 1936.  The typewriter is in excellent (nearly mint) condition.  All the keys are  still in place and all functions (including the bell) still work.  The original vinyl dust cover was torn and beyond repair.  I had another one made and keep the typewriter covered at all times.  Due to the age, it still may require a little cleaning, however.  Ink ribbons can still be purchased, and I have used it several times.  With the advent of the Internet and email, it's become more of a novelty these days and just sits.  It is currently listed as not for sale, but may be interested in selling, depending on the appraised value.
