I also have a satsuma egg owned by the Obama clan edo period.

Based on the inscription it's inscribed not printed also edo.

Though I can't read the inscription it,s blurred.

The shape and proportion is asymmetrical.

During those time printed inscriptions of pottery in Japan is common to the households of the daimyos. They are still very special. Though I can't read the inscription it's blurred.

The shape and proportion is asymmetrical. This kind of pottery is high in value.

If reserch and proper documentation can be acquired.

Also the painter or artist of your valuable.

This is a modern chinese reproduction of a Satsuma-style vase, produced in the last 5 years.

The red makers mark on the base is from the factory in China where this piece was produced.

Satsuma ware is frequently copied these days, although it is rather easy to tell the difference between real and fake pieces. If you look up "Kinkozan" and "Yabu Meizan" on Google, you will find some real A++++ quality pieces of Satsuma ware.

I am an experienced dealer of Japanese ceramics and the Meiji art of Japan for several years and have  handled 10,000's of pieces. This is NOT worth $3,000 and it has nothing to do with the Edo period of production.

I would suggest taking it in to your local Christies, Bonhams or Sothebys who will be in agreeance with my comments.
