By Marcia, 28 June, 2008
Description

Wood (probably Mahogany) with beautifully matched fancy wood veneer on legs, drawer fronts and crown molding.  Six small drawers between glass doors and fold out desk.  Three full width lower drawers (the top one of which is a curved front slightly overhanging drawer which pulls open from underneath without needing knobs and two with two knobs each)  All drawers and doors are lockable with what looks to be the original key.  Glass panes are original but two lower panes (one in each door) are cracked and a small amount of the molding on one pane is chipped off.  Everythng is easily restorable by a professinal

Re: Secretary w/fold out desk

This is an Empire style piece made circa 1835, it's mahogany with crotch cut mahogany veneers. This one is better than most- $3500.00.
