Description

Silverplate silent butler I found at a Goodwill store. It has a few rough marks or blemishes that I tried to detail in the pictures. There are some spots that wouldn't come off on the inside of it too. It has been polished recently and I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Also, I've been trying to figure out if the etching on the top is relevant to any value it may have. The etching is a rooster head coming up through a crown and has a key in its mouth/beak. The handle looks to be in good shape and it's not loose or broken in any way.

Wilcox was just one of several silver companies that merged to form International Silver at the turn of the 19th Century. This piece is silver plated though and not Sterling silver, and silver plate in the current market is not in great demand. We see pieces like this routinely sell at auction for under $30.00
