Barton coffee pot. It was my grandmothers and is engraved with D for her maiden name. Likely dates to around 1900. It is stamped MFD & PLATED BY REED & BARTON 2840 7.

Re: Silver coffee pot stamped BARTON 2840 7
Unfortunately it is not worth much, one sold in 2007 for $16 + ship on Ebay, so maybe $25 or so today depending. However, I do have some information that is useful to you.
2840 is the catalog number (I think) and it was put into production in 1875 by Reed & Barton and sold in their retail accounts into the early 1890s. The number following the pattern number corresponds to a piece in the set. #7 corresponds to the coffee pot. (teapot is #6, hot water #5, sugar, cream etc.).
The original retail of the entire set was quite a lot back then, if what I'm reading is accurate it cost $50-$60 in a time when the average American was earning $400-$500 per year. I have no dependable source for this, it's just from an old seller listing.
Unfortunately there's just no market for silver plate at all these days, there's so much of it and everyone wants silver.
Definitely a piece to keep in the family.
