Unlike the machines made for domestic use, the older industrial machines by Singer are still used by leather makers, sailmakers, upholstery and shoe repair shops. What you paid ($200.00)is about where they sell at auction.
I've seen many of these older model Singers at auctions too. In fact, I own one myself (was my mom's). I've seen them go for between $40 and $120, depending on quality. Many times they are purchased for show. The Singer museum gets so many offers to purchase from individuals that they rarely pay for anything.
