Small Corner cabinet

By SuziLane13, 9 March, 2009
Description

This cabinet has what I think are some unique hinges and locking mechanism on its doors, as well as some carved out sections above and below each of the cabinet sections. There are no makers marks or any type of markings on this piece. Im looking for any kind of information on this peice. I also have a hutch plate holder that has the same hinges and some different unique carvings and features.

Re: Small Corner cabinet

It's a "Colonial Revival" style piece, most likely made during the 1920's. Colonial Revival pieces are reproductions of the original American Colonial items originally produced from 1620-1780. They were a hot item during the 1980's, values have slumped for them since then, they sell in the $300.00- $500.00 range at auction.
