small glass "magic marker"

By Anonymous (not verified), 10 July, 2008
Description

I just dug this up the other day and was shocked as it seems to be a glass bottle magic marker and I've never heard of such a thing. Please shed some more light on this piece. I'd like to know how old it is and what it might be worth approximately. It is 3 1/8" tall.

Re: small glass "magic marker"

It's a kerosene jar(lamp). rare to find them all together(lid, wick & jar). Prob worth 30 to 50$. I've sold just the tops (larger ones) no wick for $10 -$15

Re: small glass "magic marker"

I have one of these.  It is a "Magic Marker" and I read it was from the 1960's as first Magic Markers.  Mine still has most of the label and reads:  "Magic Marker  LINER  PERMANENT" and on the back of the label, with some missing, it reads:  MAGIC MARKER CORPORATION New York 11227 World Patents Pending.  With Pat. Nos. 2713178, 3050788, 3057000 the price is $.69, but with the cents symbol and also reads "Marks any Surface, Dries Instantly, and Waterproof"
I do not know the value, but mine has a white metal cap and a blue plastic cap on the felt tip.  Mine is in excellent shape, except for the label is cracking and almost falling off.  Happy hunting.  If anyone knows anything else, you can email me at [email protected] Thanks.  Michelle
