Solingen Germany No 231 Knife

Description

A Solingen - Germany No 231 Premium Steel Hammer Forged Knife in mint condition.  This knife has a sheaf blade, and a "pocket-knife handle.  The handle includes a pairing knife, saw blade and a cork screw. Antler handle.  8 3/4" in length with a 4 1/4" fixed blade.  Includes the original sheaf, box, box insert and I have the sales receipt from the Point of sale dated April 16, 1966.  Handle, blade, and box have a manufacturer's Mark that looks like a squared tipped arrow head with the letters CD in the emblem on the box.

I have one of these- bought it in Iceland in 1965- would like to know its value now - it has never been used and is in mint condition with sheath

That logo is a Keystone one in new condition with the box like yours sold on ebay for $273 in 2012.  Used and with out the box they bring about half that. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your help! I thought that knife would be valued about where you said. I also have a Buffalo Skinner knife also from Solingen Germany that I also bought in Iceland in 1965 - would like to know its value as well. It too has never been used & has the original leather sheath

You are welcome, There are many knife, sword, blade cutlery  makers in the city of Solingen. Please post a picture with any markings and numbers
